Latest Quilt

Here is the most recent quilt I have made. Actually the only one I have made in the last two years or so. It was a gift for my cousin's baby. And I joke that this was one that could be made in a weekend since I pieced it in a day and quilted it in a day. Only problem is those days were four months apart! I vowed to sew more when Robert left but so far all I seem to have done is sew patches on Gabby's Daisy smock and am still two behind. Maybe I will find time soon - sigh.

Peabody Hotel

We took the kids to the Peabody Hotel to see the ducks march in. We went to the roof and saw where they live (boy have they upgraded it in recent years!) and Gram got the kids a drink in the lobby. Afterward, we went to Beale Street and had lunch at the Blues City Cafe. We walked around a little and then took the trolley around and down by the river. It was a very hot day but we enjoyed it.

Pink Palace

Here are the kids enjoying the circus at the Pink Palace Museum in Memphis. We used to go here when we were kids and see it. It is a miniature circus carved from wood that can be put into motion. It's very fun!

Gabby's last day of school

Here's Gabby on the last day of school back on June 11. I made her stand in front of the house and car since we have a different house and car from the first day way back on August 11 in Kansas! Sam was not to be left out.

Colbert in Iraq

Here's a pic Robert took of the Colbert Report filming at Al Faw. This is the Deputy Prime Minister of Iraq. If you missed his interview, it was good! Robert has seen some of the taping from the third floor. The shows have been good and I'm glad they've had some distraction this week.

He finally remembered to mention to me today that a couple of days ago he was waiting for someone to come get him for a briefing and looked down from the third floor to see Mack Brown, then Houston Nutt and then Tommy Tuberville standing down on the first floor. Unfortunately, he didn't have his camera and was waiting for someone (superior) so he didn't have time to run down and say hello. But he did see him from above briefly. Glad to hear he is still doing great things. Thanks for the visit, Tommy!

Kindergarten Graduation

I'm not sure when the ritual of Kindergarten Graduation began. I didn't have one. I guess it began sometime around the time 100 day celebrations began. In any case, Gabby had her Kindergarten Graduation tonight. It was cute, although there was not half as much seating as there needed to be and so I was in the very back trying to video and take pics over lots of people and keep Sam happy in the stroller. So I didn't actually get a picture of her getting her paper.

They sang a few songs, which were fun. Gabby liked this part since she loves to sing. Then they handed out the diplomas. Gabby still has a week of school left but she's on her way to being a first grader.
