Life is Good

Well, life is good for us here in 2008. We decided to make a major life change and move half-way across the country (Translation: We got orders.) We went for a gated community with great security (Translation: We live on post.) We also decided downsizing our space was a good idea (Translation: Family housing is half the size of our last house.) We thought a nice white would make the walls feel clean (Translation: It’s institutional white and there is nothing we can do about it.) We have decided to go retro in the styling of our home (Translation: We have a stove, cabinets and laminate countertops from the 1960s and peach tiles in the bathrooms.) We also thought we’d go a different direction with the yard (Translation: It began as mud, which is now covered in snow.) We are already very close to our new neighbors (Translation: We live in a four-plex within a circle of three four-plexes.) Every day is like Christmas. (Translation: We’re still unpacking boxes.) We don’t like to be name-droppers, but we have some very famous neighbors (Translation: Michael Vick is nearby in the Federal Penitentiary, which we can see from our house.) Yes, life is good for us here in 2008 (Translation: Despite the attempt at humor, we are very happy here. Gabby has started her new preschool. Robert’s classes start tomorrow. We’ve found a church and a neighborhood Bible Study to attend. Sam is crawling like crazy and starting to pull up. And I am back into PWOC. Life really is good!)
