I have been meaning to hit the super low summer tides for a couple of years now but always seem to miss them. May's came on the perfect day - the weather was beautiful and the low tide was about an hour after Sam returned from school. We didn't have much time to get somewhere so we grabbed a quick lunch and went to Solo Point so we could drive right up to the beach. We saw a bunch of starfish in every color, clams, and a bunch of boogery things we couldn't identify. In one spot you could see the pretty stuff out in the water. We couldn't quite walk out to it but could get pretty close. Just as we were loading up the car, the Amtrak came rolling through. That was the closest Sam had been to a train moving fast.
